weight gain with Zyrtec?
I was just wondering if anyone here has experienced significant weight gain with Zyrtec? I have been told that Zyrtec contains steroids and therefore can make you gain weight significantly. I have been eating right and going to the gym for a while now and since taking Zyrtec I have packed on about 30 pounds. I understand that I need to keep my asthma/allergies under control, but I'm tempted to switch to something that doesn't contain steroids (if Zyrtec does) and I can start not gaining weight like crazy. It's just depressing to see the weight go up like that when you're doing what you're supposed to do like going to the gym, water intake, and eating right. Any suggestions out there? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mira :-)
I forgot to mention that I'm also on Singulair which I take at night and also Flonase during the day and Albuterol as a rescue inhaler.

Zyrtec is a fast acting daily anti-allergy treatment for seasonal rhinitis, or "hayfever", and other allergic conditions. These conditions include conjunctivitis, perennial allergic rhinitis, pruritus, urticaria, more commonly called "hives", and insect bites. Zrytec lasts 24 hours so it only needs to be taken once a day and it offers most people relief from symptoms within about 20 minutes. The symptoms of hayfever, which is the most common form of allergy, include sneezing, a runny and itchy nose, and watery, itchy eyes. Each tablet of Zyrtec contains 10mg of Cetirizine Hydrochloride, an antihistamine that counteracts the effects of histamine produced by the body in response to allergies. Zyrtec blocks histamine sites so that histamine is not released. Zyrtec tablets are available in packets of 30 tablets, and does not contain gluten or sucrose.
Over-the-counter allergy remedies like Benadryl and Zyrtec contain , a class of drug that can cause excessive drowsiness and may put you at risk if you’re driving a car or operating machinery—even more so when you’ve also had a drink or two. Even antihistamines that are advertised as non-drowsy (such as Claritin and Allegra) can have this effect in some people, says Rech, especially when paired with alcohol.
